CURRENT / REMEMBERING THE LIBERATION OF SARAWAK FROM IMPERIAL JAPANESE OCCUPATION

TODAY, September 11 in 1945, Sarawak is liberated by the Allied Army from Imperial Japanese occupation. 

We remember the moment that commemorates this historic day, and the sacrifices made by some of Sarawak's true heroes.

THE UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER CEREMONY OF THE JAPANESE TO THE AUSTRALIAN FORCES IN KUCHING, SARAWAK | SEPTEMBER 11, 1945

the contribution and the first parachute landing in Bario on 25th March 1945 by the party of British and Australian Commandos for Operation Semut I, II, III & IV led by Major Tom Harrisson, Major Toy Carter, Major William Sochon and Major Bill Jinkin respectively. 

and

the contribution and sacrifice of the tribal warriors o the Baram and the Rejang basins and their comrades in support of Operation Semut, fighting the Japanese forces for the liberation of Sarawak.
