1MDB LEAK DEAL: EX-PETROSAUDI EXEC SUES THE EDGE OWNER IN SINGAPORE COURT
He also cited WhatsApp exchanges between Mr Tong, two other people and himself as evidence, as well as meetings in Bangkok and Singapore between himself and Mr Tong and/or others. These allegedly included two meetings with Ms Clare Rewcastle-Brown, the owner and editor of The Sarawak Report, in a Bangkok hotel in 2014.

REPORTED BY THE STRAITS TIMES OF SINGAPORE
Details of the alleged deal behind the leaks that spawned claims about the misappropriation of billions at a Malaysian state investment firm linked to Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak may well unravel in the High Court in Singapore.

Swiss national Xavier Andre Justo, the man allegedly behind the leaks, is suing the owner of Malaysia's The Edge media group Tong Kooi Ong and two others for damages.

Justo claims that he handed over two data storage drives in Mr Tong's presence at a Fullerton Hotel meeting in February last year in return for US$2 million (S$2.7 million) - money which he never received.
He wants the items - which contain data about global oil services firm PetroSaudi and its business partner 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) - to be returned and for any copies to be destroyed, according to court documents filed last November.

LIKE IT OR NOT, NAJIB WINS THIS ROUND
Despite ongoing international probes into 1MDB, it is likely that the Opposition has been outplayed.

REPORTED BY FREE MALAYSIA TODAY

by Scott Ng
The release of the Public Accounts Committee report on the 1MDB scandal has been trumpeted as sweet vindication for our Prime Minister.
For the better part of the past 12 months, Najib Razak has been judged in the court of public opinion as a dictator, a perpetrator of grand corruption, an accessory to murder and even a coward. There have been videos of football fans belting out songs that call for his resignation, art works depicting him as a clown and even a case of someone screaming a profanity at him as he made his way through a crowd.
These have all instilled a belligerent mood amongst the rakyat, and the PAC report is not likely to silence his most ardent detractors. However, even with the investigations in Hong Kong, Switzerland, the United States and Singapore continuing, it is likely that the PM has won this round.

SAUDI GIFT FOR MALAYSIA PM NAJIB RAZAK 'FOR ELECTION CAMPAIGN'
The Saudi source said the donation was made amid concern in Riyadh about the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood.

REPORTED BY BBC

The $681m (£479m) deposited in the bank account of Malaysian PM Najib Razak by Saudi Arabia was to help him win the 2013 elections, a Saudi source says.
Malaysia's attorney general cleared Mr Najib of allegations of corruption on Tuesday after ruling that the money was a donation from the Saudi royal family.
Mr Najib had denied that the money came from state investment fund 1MDB.
The Saudi source said the donation was made amid concern in Riyadh about the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood.

IN ITS HASTE TO "PAINT NAJIB BLACK", SARAWAK REPORT EXPOSES ANWAR'S LINKS TO TERROR ORGANISATIONS

REPORTED BY MALAYSIAN DIGEST

KUALA LUMPUR, January 4, 2016 –
Recently Sarawak Report published what it intended as an expose aimed at the ruling Malaysian government and its links to PetroSaudi officials but instead exposed former Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's links to terror organizations in the Middle East.

Lim Sian See blog recently highlight a Sarawak Report article that reproduced an email between Nawaf Obaidi, the brother of Tarek Obaid, the CEO of PetroSaudi, with the Deputy National Advisor for International Economic Affairs in the US National Security Council (NSC), Michael Froman.

The email mentioned that Nawaf did a confidential background assessment and discovered Anwar has close ties with the Muslim Brotherhood network (Ikhwan Muslimin) that the US government deemed as a terror organization.

More alarmingly, we have found proof of Mr. Ibrahim’s ties with some of the leading brotherhood ideologues and financiers around the globe, such as Youssef Al Qaradawi, Yassin Qadi, Youssef Nada and others.

The International Institute of Islamic [Thought] in Virginia that was raided on numerous occasions by the federal authorities in the past several years and the nerve center of brotherhood financing in the US has Mr. Ibrahim as a founding member,” the email stated.

LSS Report highlighted the significance of the unintended revelation.

HIGH COURT NOTIFIED OF MAHMUD'S SUCCESSFUL APPEAL
The Kuala Lumpur Shariah High Court was today informed that the Shariah Appeals Court had on July 14 ruled in favour of Sarawak entrepreneur Mahmud Abu Bekir Taib in the child maintenance claim brought by former wife Shahnaz Abdul Majid against him.

REPORTED BY BLOGTAKES

KUALA LUMPUR, (FMT) August 20, 2015–
The decision was conveyed to Kuala Lumpur Shariah High Court Registrar Nor Faiz Afsal Abu Bakar by Mahmud’s counsel Zainul Rijal Abu Bakar, Saadiah Din and Muhammad Izaan Azalan. Mohd Rafie Mohd Shafie and Akberdin bin Abdul Kader, who act for Shahnaz were, however, not present.

The appellate court had last month unanimously ruled that Shahnaz had no locus standi to bring the claim as their son Raden Murya Abdul Taib Mahmud had reached the age of majority on his eighteenth birthday.

CANADIAN JOURNALIST MOHAMED FAHMY SUES EMPLOYER AL JAZEERA FOR $100M
He accuses Qatar-based news agency of operating with a bias that led to Egypt jailing him and two colleagues. Al Jazeera denies the allegation.

REPORTED BY TORONTO STAR
CAIRO, May 11, 2015—
Mohamed Fahmy, the Canadian journalist on trial in Egypt on terror-related charges, has filed a lawsuit in Canadian court against his employer Al Jazeera for $100 million, accusing the Qatari news network of negligence and breach of contract
In a case that sparked worldwide condemnation of Egypt’s government, Fahmy was jailed for more than 400 days with his two Al Jazeera English colleagues, Egyptian producer Baher Mohamed and Australian correspondent Peter Greste.
Egyptian prosecutors accused the three of spreading false news harmful to national security and of belonging to or aiding the Muslim Brotherhood, which authorities designated a terrorist group in December 2013, six months after Muslim Brotherhood-aligned president Mohammed Morsi, was overthrown.

CONFESSIONS AND LIES - NEW STRAITS TIMES
REPORTED BY SARAWAK REPORT TALKBACK

Comment
This accusation is yet another twisted lie from New Straits Times, who [sic.] have [sic.] also lied that they [sic.] have tried to contact Sarawak Report* for advance comment on their [sic.] defamatory stories.
No one from PKR offered to pay Justothey all laughed at the money he was asking and said if they had such money there was [sic.] a queue of things to spend it on.
Yesterday New Straits Times extrapolated, twisted and altered meanings of private texts, as journalists were working diligently to draw out vital information from the crooks at PetroSaudi, who had fortunately fallen out with each other.
Now they are working offconfessions’ [sic.made by Justo as he tries to please his captors in order to get out of jail.

Why are [sic.] NST trying to protect crooks?
